Lauren Delgado, who was awarded Rookie of the Year at Granada Hills Charter High School, began the season on the Frosh/Soph team, running a 24:07 at her first league race.  Only 2 weeks later, she got a permanent spot on the Varsity team when Coach Wolman let her run with the Varsity and she ran a time of 20:39.  When qualifying for City Prelims, she ran a 20:17.

She had one goal during Los Angeles City Finals - to run the 3 mile in under 20 minutes for the first time.  Not only did she accomplish this goal in grand fashion with a time of 19:29.8,  but also helped her team qualify for this State competition

Even though this video was not taken at this meet - it is a good backstory behind an up and comer who at this rate is certain to be back and one to watch.
