Olivia Williams, a senior at Acalanes High in California, placed fifth in the Division 4 girls final by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 17:41.6 at Woodward Park in Fresno at the CIF State Cross Country Championships. Williams returned to competition this season after not racing as a junior after overcoming a battle with an eating disorder that she has discussed publicly following a runner-up finish in the Division 4 championship race in 2021. Williams helped Acalanes secure seventh place as a team with 222 points.
